DIY Craft: No-sew Headband
On February 24, 2012
Don’t know how to sew? No problem! Check out this super easy to make headband — no sewing necessary!
What you’ll need:
- 6 colorful strips of fabric (1 in x 24 in)
- 2 thin hair elastics
- 1 safety pin
- Hot glue gun (with adult supervision!)
Here’s how to do it:
- Take one hair elastic, loop it around the other and pull through to make a figure-8 shape.
- Using your safety pin, carefully secure three strips of fabric to something stable, such as a chair arm or floor carpet.
- Braid your strips until you reach the end of the fabric. Repeat this process one more time with the remaining three strips of fabric so you will have 2 braids.
- Next, carefully use a hot glue gun to glue the ends of the two braids around one of the loops in the figure-8 elastics.
- After it’s dry, make sure you try it on & figure out the best size for your head. Cut off the extra fabric, leaving a few inches to glue to the other end of the elastic. Repeat Step 4.
- Let the hot glue dry again & rock your new headband with your favorite outfit!
TIP: Glue some extra fabric flowers on the headband for some extra fabulousness!
