6 Things to Do If You Can’t Leave the House!
Live in the Northeast & can’t leave the house because of all this snow & ice? Are you someplace warm(er) & your husband or teenager is borrowing the car so you have no way to get out of the house all day? Or maybe you’re just feeling under the weather & simply don’t want to get out of bed. No matter your reason for staying inside, don’t be bored! Here are some activities that you can do to stay active & if you can get your children involved, you could end up with some quiet time for yourself! It’s a win-win situation!
1) Play a game! Whether it’s Monopoly, Go Fish, or loading up a tennis match on the Wii, don’t just sit around twiddling your thumbs. Grab your family members & break out those boardgames & decks of cards. Take turns choosing a game to play & let loose!
2) Read a book! Choose a comfy place to sit in your house (on a couch, in bed, by your favorite windw), pick up a good read & relax. The best part about reading is getting involved with the characters of the book. Allow yourself to enjoy the storyline & get immersed in a life outside of your own!
3) Watch a movie! If you’re lucky enough to have more than one place to watch a movie, have your kids choose their 2-3 favorites & set them up with a soft blanket & a huge bowl of popcorn. Head into the other room & get your own popcorn and pop in your favorite movie! Enjoy YOUR time.
4) Do chores! Catching up on those items that you haven’t been able to get to throughout the week will help you relax when the snow begins to melt or you finally get healthy again! Kids: Ask your mom if you can help out by cleaning your room or picking up toys around the house! Be productive, pitch in & you’ll make your mom super happy!
5) Get a FB account! Are you on Facebook? Maybe you’re not (or are totally against it) but I can guarantee you that if you have the time, you could spend it all on this awesome social networking website. Need someplace to start? Head over to the FashionPlaytes Facebook Fan Page & let the fun begin!
6) Cook something yummy! Head into your kitchen with the kids & cook something d-lish. Choose from easy recipes like rice crispy treats or raspberry cake bars, or take it to the next level & attempt a satisfying dinner! Either way, keep busy & have fun.
