FPgirl Introduces New App!

Everywhere you go, you hear, “There’s an app for that!” Well, you’ve guessed it, now there’s an app for FPgirl too, and it’s available for free at the itunes App store for the iPhone, iTouch and iPad (coming soon to other devices!).

Here at FPgirl, we’ve seen first hand how tweens are finding new ways to express themselves in today’s mobile-first world — in fact, that’s why we created our fun app! Girls can design fashion scenes and share them through the app, they can share their thoughts and ideas with the one-million-plus members of the FPgirl community… all while still being 100-percent moderated and completely anonymous in a COPPA compliant, safe internet setting.

Why is an FPgirl app important for tweens? Mostly because we know how important mobile experiences are for this generation and for the next generations behind them. How many of you have given your phone or your tablet to your toddlers to entertain them, only to be amazed at how quickly they’ve maneuvered the buttons and figured out the system (or even locked you out!)?

From early on, we entertain our children in waiting rooms, grocery stores, carpool lines by letting them play on our phones. Children KNOW how to use these devices and schools are even coming equipped with iPads and tablets now, and teaching children computer technology. Which means this is also how they’re learning to socialize. It’s just how the world is operating.

The FPgirl app is a safe way to give your daughter ‘training wheels’ to a fun social media network so she will know how to communicate in the virtual world responsibly and kindly. It’s a great way to be sure she’s prepared when it comes time for the apps she’ll need to use in her grown-up world since she’ll already know how to navigate her way through a social network and create relationships with online friends. Friends who are like-minded with similar hobbies and ideas!
