Meet Our Board of Directors

Rudina Seseri

Rudina is a partner at Fairhaven Capital, a venture capital fund that invests in high potential companies. In addition to serving on the board of FashionPlaytes.com, she has also invested in and served on the board of Crowdtwist.

Before joining Fairhaven Capital, she was a Senior Manager in the Corporate Development Group at Microsoft Corporation.  In this position, Rudina was responsible for sourcing, structuring, and negotiating Microsoft’s acquisitions and strategic investments including acquisitions such as iView Multimedia, Deep Metrix and Lionhead Studios. Prior to Microsoft, she worked as an investment banker in the Technology Group at Credit Suisse.

Rudina graduated magna cum laude from Wellesley College with a B.A. in Economics and International Relations, and received her MBA from the Harvard Business School. She has been elected to the Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Epsilon honor societies. Rudina is co-chair of the New England Venture Association (NEVN), the largest young venture capital organization on the East Coast. She is a 2011 Boston Business Journal 40-under-40 honoree for her professional accomplishments and community involvement.

Scott Johnson

Scott is a seasoned high tech entrepreneur and venture investor whose past investments have included publicly traded companies like EnerNOC (Nasdaq ENOC) and Massive (acquired by Microsoft). In addition to serving as a member of FashionPlaytes.com’s board, he also holds a seat on the board of directors of Pontiflex, Image Space Media, Solve Media, and Truveris.

Before co-founding NAV and its predecessor, DFJ New England, Scott was the East Coast partner of the Cambridge Technology Capital Fund, cited by Venture Economics as one of the top performing post-IPO funds of 1999, where he oversaw investments in E.piphany, Silknet, Digital Think, and WebLogic. Before that, he co-founded InterSense, Inc., a 3D visualization technology company. Scott began his career as a software engineer and early employee of Cambridge Technology Partners, a global systems integration and consulting company.

Andrea Weiss

Andrea Weiss is a leading retail and consumer sector executive and consultant with more than 25 years experience directing retail operations for companies like The Limited, Guess, Walt Disney Co., Ann Taylor, and dELiA*s. As founder and CEO of Retail Consulting Inc, Andrea offers product and brand development, consumer contact strategies and operational improvement services to companies like Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, L’Oreal Paris, and Starbucks.

Before founding Retail Consulting, Andrea was President of dELiA*s, Inc., a multi-channel teen and ‘tween girls brand with annual revenue of $153 million. At dELiA’s, Andrea was responsbile for creating key growth strategies, increasing customer contacts and reducing customer acquisition costs. She also led retail expansion and developed licensing strategies for the brand.

Andrea has also been Executive Vice President and Chief Stores Officer for The Limited and Intimate Brands, where she was responsible for the sales and operation of $10 billion in annual revenue across 5,500 retail stores operating under 9 different brand names including Victoria’s Secret, Express, and Bath & Body Works.

Prior to Limited, Andrea was President, Retail Division, at Guess, and, before that, she served as Senior Vice President and Director of Stores at Ann Taylor Stores. She has also been Director of Merchandise Operation for Walt Disney World Resorts and Attractions, where she oversaw retail locations at Disney resorts and theme parks in Florida and California.

Andrea holds degrees in administration, business administration and marketing from Johns Hopkins University and The Kellogg School of Business, as well as a Board Governance Certificate from Harvard Business School.
