Growing is unstoppable and shrinking usually happens in the wash. When this happens some of our very favorite clothes are now handed down or thrown away. With these awesome tips you can still keep or even redo your own clothes with a personal twist!
a) Have an embarrassing hole in your favorite T? Or an un-washable stain on your cute sundress? A way to hide such things is to take some fabric a stencil or pattern and cute it out. With fabric markers you can draw some details then simply sew on top of the rip or stain and viola! A normal looking detail which could even add interest!
b) Do you love a design on a shirt? Maybe your paisley print skirt is now to small but you want to spice up your purple sweater. Cut a bit of the pattern out in a shape such as a heart and sew on. Now your favs can still be seen but in a fitting way!
c) Fabric markers and stencils can be a fun way to create your own twist on that plain white t or maybe your lime tank!
d) Sleeves to short? No problem! There are a few ways to handle this problem.
- Cut of sleeves and make a tank.
- Simply cut it all off just above your chest to make it strapless.
- Cut it strapless, sew on button ( I think some come in different shapes) and then take a long piece of ribbon, tie around button then behind your neck!
e) Love bows? Then you’ll love this! On either one or both shoulders of your shirt take ribbon and slip through the ends of the sleeves and bring through the top by your neck. Tie into a bow and show it off.
f) Shirt to short? Cut into a crop top on or off the shoulder!
g) Spread the news! With fabric markers write a message such as “Jesus loves you” “Recycle” “Go Green” and whatever you want to do!
I hope you’ve enjoyed these tips on how to redo your clothes! Though I have to admit only two are my own. Please love this if you enjoyed this article! What are your tips to mix up your closet?
